AJ Neely

Family Ministries Director

I grew up in Amarillo, TX in a home where attending church weekly was the norm and where I developed a basic understanding of the Gospel. I came to faith when I was 8 years old but for years following that, my heart pursued all kinds of things in place of my relationship with Christ. The good news is that Christ did not stop pursuing me. My junior year of high school, a Young Life leader was relentless in sharing Christ with me and God used that relationship and ministry to reveal Himself to me and bring much needed change to my heart. From there, I made my way to Texas A&M.

During my time in college, I grew in my knowledge, understanding, and love of Christ. I thought I was going to pursue a career in the financial world, but God clearly called me to spend my vocational life proclaiming Christ in the local church. I married my wife, Holly, in 2009 and we have 3 amazing kids. We spent the early years of marriage in student ministry in the DFW area. From there, we spent 6 years in Loveland, CO planting a church, committed to making Jesus known in a very non-Christian part of America. I now have the privilege of serving with an incredible family ministries team at Watermark Fort Worth. I have 3 fun, adventurous and servant-hearted kids and we love to hike, camp, bike, road-trip, and explore together. We are on a quest to hit every National Park (Glacier is our favorite so far!). If I wasn’t in ministry, I would probably be training to be the oldest professional alpine skier in history or podcasting about Aggie sports.
